Family oriented Spring Break...

Orlando, FL

This is a place for guaranteed fun for the entire family!

Universal globe on plant field
Aside from theme parks, Orlando has tons of other things to do like restaurants, shopping and even water sports parks. Visit a theme park like Universal Studios  (one of our faves!) where kids can ride and play all day long. When its time to chill, mommy and daddy can wind down too at a restaurant like Margaritaville when the sun goes down. There are plenty of great hotels to stay on or off of the resort property. Universal has several great options, some are more kid friendly than others.
We also like Sea World for a day of fun in the sun. The water parks at Sea World are awesome! You can plan an entire day around that alone. Wolfs Lodge in Orlando is another great water park to visit. if you would like to make the weekend about water parks.

The Space Coast | Cocoa Beach, FL

An iconic Florida surf town, Cocoa Beach is more about the laidback salt life than the jetset life. And this community east of Orlando on Florida’s Atlantic coast makes for an inexpensive family spring break, too. An abundance of budget-minded chain hotels and family-run inns means you can usually find a cheap room, even during spring break. Spend your day boogie boarding on the beach, or take a ride on the Cocoa Beach Trolley (free for kids under 5, and dirt cheap for everyone else) to Port Canaveral, the pier and other spots around town.
Be sure to take a day or two to head over to Cape Canaveral while you are in Cocoa Beach. You might even be lucky enough to see a space shuttle launch!

The Carolinas | Blowing Rock, NC

Blowing Rock offers  lots of outdoor fun in a small town environment that is so American. About 15 miles west of town, the small mountain town of Sugar Mountain has easy slopes and an ice skating rink that stays open through March. The town is right along the Blue Ridge Parkway, so if it’s a warmer year, you can head out on hikes with your family. Check out the Tweetsie Railroad, and book rides for the kids. Take a day to drive the parkway, you wont regret it. Make time to stay a night or two in Hot Springs, NC. Hot Springs, North Carolina is a small town right on the Appalachian Trail.  Enjoy shops and restaurants to explore.

If you're looking for a traditional college style Spring Break with crowds of people, we found some really fun options!

South Padre Island, TX

Since I myself am a fan of staying in the US for a party week of this magnitude, I  had to find out more about this Spring Break mecca coined Spring Break Island. This is a place where thousands of college students gather to enjoy the beaches, warm water and festivities. We checked out Student Escape  for more information on travel, places to stay and things to do.

While South Padre is known for its Spring Break popularity, it is also a great place to travel for all kinds of ages (maybe not that same week!). be sure and visit https://www.sopadre.com/ to check out this beautiful area in Texas.

Savannah, Georgia

This is a fun little historic town with a wide variety of things to do. While there are many bars, restaurants and fun group things to do in the Historic District, you will love the charm and history this little town has to offer. Visit a hotel on River Street and watch the enormous barges float by your window. Visit one of the many historic sites like the 18th Century Wormsloe Historic Site or Forsyth Park. For a day of fun be sure to take a trolley tour of the city. Catch a Saturday Morning Rooftop Yoga Class at the Perry Lane Hotel https://www.perrylanehotel.com/.

Always be safe on Spring Break. Know where your friends are going, make sure they know where you are, who you are with, and never leave your drink unattended. Communicate with a caring adult. Always drink responsibly!
